Dr. Pacheco is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American
Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She has co-aurthored
articles in the area of pediatric ophthalmology including "Consecutive Exotropia
after Medial Rectus Recession" and "A Child Presenting with Optic Nerve
Edema." She is also an investigator in the NIH funded Pediatric Eye Disease
Investigator Group (PEDIG). Dr. Pacheco's clinical practice focuses on pediatric ophthalmology with special interests in the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus, the prevention and treatment of amblyopia (lazy eye), nasolacrimal (tearing) disorders, the diagnosis and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and working in partnership with primary care physicians in the diagnosis and care of systemic illnesses such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes mellitus and neurofibromatosis. |
Monica Pacheco M.D. is a fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist and eye surgeon. Dr. Pacheco completed her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. She completed her residency in ophthalmology as well as his internship at the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Pacheco's medical degree was conferred at the University of Puerto Rico. She graduated with a BA in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. |
