NOTICE TO PATIENTS: UHC CONTRACT STATUS

Effective May 1, 2025
Kids Eye Care of Maryland may no longer be in-network with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) due to proposed reimbursement cuts that make it unsustainable to continue providing pediatric eye care. This puts your child’s access to trusted, high-quality services at risk.
WHAT THIS MEANS:
— Your child may lose in-network access to our doctors.
— You may face higher out-of-pocket costs.
— UHC’s actions may violate COMAR 31.10.44, which requires insurers to maintain pediatric subspecialty access.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
— Call UHC Member Services (use the number on your insurance card
— Demand that UHC keep Kids Eye Care of Maryland in-network.
— Remind them their network must cover pediatric subspecialty care under Maryland law.

— Maryland Insurance Administration
— Phone: 410-468-2244
